We've all heard the statement that it takes a village to raise a child. It seems that someone enters a child's life just at the instant the child needs guidance or the parent a helping hand; a teacher, relative, neighbor, friend. But here's another truth. The child often touches the adult in an amazing way as well.
I'd like to tell you about a little boy who loves red balloons, has a beautiful smile and who is Autistic. Autism presents certain difficulties which include safety and verbal communication. His safety becomes compromised as he'd think nothing of bolting into the road or into a body of water. And if lost, he could not communicate effectively to find his way home.
His family would like him to have a friend who does not demand conversation, will protect him and will love him unconditionally. He has been approved for an Autism Service Dog, which is chosen and trained specifically for him. So, how can we help? Diana's is sponsoring a raffle with prizes including a Diamond pendant, handmade gold and sterling gemstone ring. Sterling/crystal bracelet, and a set of hand-painted bottles. Tickets are only $5 each or 3/$10 and may be purchased at Diana's or send your check to us made out to Wilderwood Service Dogs and we'll mail you your tickets. Call 457-1050 for details.
