Designing...the process and people

Designing...the process and people Designing...the process and people

Designing...the process and people By now, you know we love to redesign and recreate jewelry. I’ve written before about starting with a sketch but , the process also involves special people that go above and beyond in their service and product knowledge. Designing...the process and people

Designing...the process and people One of my favorite people to brainstorm with is a gentleman who is a walking computer chip. I wish I could plug a cord into his brain! His experience with metals and special stones is unsurpassed. He handmade the double guard on the previous page, the mother’s ring pictured in the next column and the antique halo ring mentioned last in the next section. We often have many conversations on one design before the best direction is determined to achieve the final result desired.

Jim at Diana’s works in both silver and gold to create unique designs. Silver is used mostly in pendants and earrings and he sometimes uses both metals to create unique styles, like the pendant pictured here. Incorporating different size diamonds, the center bars are white gold for strength with the outer bars sterling to incorporate the positive features of both metals.

This next customer loved this Kirk Kara mounting and her fiancé loved blue diamonds. A colored diamond source found the precise sizes of side blue diamonds and Kirk Kara made the ring. A unique ring for a beautiful lady!

Designing...the process and people designing-12-19I had the privilege of working with two lovely ladies in redesigning their “bling”. The first found this picture online and wanted to incorporate her 3 stones into a similar style however her stones were 3 different sizes. Because of this, a custom ring was needed.Designing...the process and people

Creating the second design was another pleasure. This customer chose to reset her original diamond with some smaller ones and add a halo. We worked together to find the perfect combination of the “antique” style without the metal portion becoming too busy. The result was a one of a kind beauty!
